ZAMBEZI RIVER CEASES TO BE BOUNDARY— POSSIBLY THE END OF A DECADES OLD TRIBAL CONFLICT

Following the establishment of the Zambezi Central constituency in Zambezi district, the long-standing tribal conflict between the Luvale and Lunda could potentially be resolved.

The central constituency encompasses Senior Chiefs Ndungu and Ishindi within the same constituency, effectively removing the Zambezi River as the political boundary between the two rival chiefs.

For a considerable period, the political boundary has been misused as the chiefdom boundary, allowing politicians to exploit this division for personal gain.

With the creation of the central constituency, a candidate must secure at least 30% of the votes from each tribe to win.

We can expect a significant shift in the political direction of the district.

The tribal conflicts have consistently been fueled by politicians who will now be compelled to unite the two tribes in order to achieve victory.

Who will be the first Member of Parliament for Zambezi Central?
