Beauty Fades, Purpose Refines: Youth Is Capital, Invest It Wisely”
Bane, let me have a quick word with the young men—and ladies, lend me your ears too.
You’ve heard the saying “handsome nipatumba”? It’s true. Youth is capital. While you’re still young, take risks. Invest in that business idea that has been sitting in your mind, not gathering dust because you fear failure. Yet on the other side, you’re busy risking your future for a girl you already know is beyond your pockets.

Here’s the irony. While you’re killing yourself to get her attention, she’s living comfortably off the attention of many men. Now you’re competing with blessers and sugar daddies, and some of you go as far as taking loans just to prove “love” to someone whose beauty is only skin deep. No substance. No vision. Just a temporary attraction that will cost you years.

When I was younger, people laughed at my big nose and ears. Today? Most handsome dude, muntu wanga. Not because my face changed, but because purpose has a way of refining a man. I’ve been blessed to build with my sweet 16, someone who saw the value long before the empires were built.

Now let me speak to my ladies.

Truth is, beauty without a growing mind depreciates with time. The men admiring you now will move on to women whose value goes beyond the face. And don’t misunderstand me, look good. Take care of yourself. But feed your mind too if you want to remain attractive beyond 40.

Many young women admire powerful women like my sister Mizinga or my sweet 16, Nachombe Kabunda and say, “I want to be like her.” What they often miss is this: those women invested heavily in their minds before the spotlight ever found them.

Some of you say men leave once they “get money right.” Sometimes, it’s not the money, it’s that your mindset becomes a liability to the empire he is trying to build. You choose instant gratification over long-term vision.

And if you don’t know, be willing to learn. Tell your man, “Teach me how to make money too.” I promise you, there is nothing more honorable to a man than a woman willing to grow, build, and understand the art of value creation.

Beauty fades. Substance compounds. Choose wisely.
