Mongu | Western Province | 21 February 2026
A newly completed Level One Hospital now stands along the Mongu–Limulunga Road in Kalangu area of Mongu a powerful symbol of renewal and service.
Constructed through the personal charitable initiatives of President Hakainde Hichilema, the mini hospital represents a direct investment in the health and dignity of the local community.
Built on land gifted to the President by Induna Kapui, the facility is situated approximately 1.2 kilometers from the site associated with the 2017 treason allegations involving former President Edgar Lungu.
Where political tension once captured national attention, a centre of healing now rises to serve the people.
The Level One Hospital will provide admission wards for both male and female patients, a laboratory, and essential medical services aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery in Kalangu and surrounding areas.
In Kalangu, history has not been erased it has been transformed into hope.
